Information We Access and How We Use It Dhaka Compass is designed to be a privacy-first transit utility. The data we access is strictly used to provide core app functionality on your device. Location Data: We request access to your device’s precise location (GPS) strictly to power the “Find Nearest Station,” “Daily Route Planning,” and “Station Exits Navigator” features. This location data is processed ephemerally (temporarily in memory) on your device. It is not stored on external servers or tracked over time. NFC Data (MRT Card Scanning): The app utilizes your device’s Near Field Communication (NFC) hardware to read your physical Dhaka MRT card. This data is processed instantly and ephemerally on the device to display relevant transit information. We do not transmit, save, or share your MRT card data off your device. Offline Functionality: Features such as the Metro Fare & Expressway Toll Calculator operate completely offline and do not collect or transmit any user data.
Data Sharing and Third Parties Because the core functionality of Dhaka Compass operates locally on your device, we do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties. (Note: If third-party services like Google Maps SDK or analytics are used to render maps, data is handled according to their respective privacy policies).
Data Security We implement industry-standard security measures to maintain the safety of your information. Since Dhaka Compass processes sensitive permissions (Location and NFC) locally and ephemerally, your data remains in your control on your physical device.
User Rights and Data Deletion Under global privacy standards, you have the right to control your data. Because Dhaka Compass does not store your personal data on external servers, there is no remote data to delete. You can stop all data collection at any time by: Revoking Location and NFC permissions in your device’s settings. Uninstalling the application.
Changes to This Privacy Policy We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy and providing a notice within the app.
